It’s been awfully quiet around these parts, certainly not due to any shortage of Minimates.  New releases hit the stores and are announced on a regular basis on the Diamond Select Toys website.  Lively discussions occur every day at the excellent Minimate Multiverse.  And the wonderful Minimates Central has recently re-opened!

Yet a lot of loose ends remain at Minimate Headquarters.  JP1000’s story has only begun to be told.  An effort was made at the beginning of the summer to find a new administrator for the Minimates Gallery portion of MMHQ but the position remains unfilled.  A round up of the results of the various Polls has long been promised, and Minimates news coverage has been few are far between.  These shortfalls are all my fault.

Make no mistake, I remain an avid collector and fan of Diamond Select Toys and Minimates, and my army of Minimates will continue to grow as long as they keep making ‘em.  But real life often intrudes on hobbies, and my life is no different.  I have some difficult to decisions to make, but I’ll do what’s in the best interest of the hobby and the fantastic community of collectors that have sprung up around Minimates.

Thanks to all of the regular readers of Minimate Headquarters.  The future of Minimates looks very bright.

The final eight custom Monster Minimates are now up for auction on eBay! Last weeks auctions were very successful raising just over $295 in total! The second wave of customs are off to a strong start and I hope they’ll raise at least the same amount as the first wave did. Happy Bidding!

The variant from the fourth wave of Battlestar Galactica Minimates, “Miniseries Baltar”, has been revealed. He appears almost exactly as he did in the original control art (which can be seen here).

It’s great that DST is producing the figures that we’ve already seen designs for and fitting them into their release schedule but what worries me is that they are running out of unproduced designs! The only one that we’ve seen that hasn’t been produced or even announced is the “no glasses” Adama, in terms of the modern line at least.

There are of course the Mini-Flyers and the classic line as well - both of which we’ve seen designs and prototypes for. And I’ve been pining for both since we learned that the possibility of them ever being released was slim. I’d be ecstatic if they were released but I’m not going to hold my breath.
